In many parts of Medford Township, the changing seasons bring not only picturesque forest landscapes but also the inevitable chore of managing fallen leaves and brush. Fortunately, Medford offers municipal leaf and brush collection programs as a valuable service, offering residents a convenient and eco-friendly solution to seasonal yard waste. These programs, coordinated by the township, contribute significantly to community cleanliness and sustainability.

Leaf Collection

The annual Fall Leaf Collection program from Medford Township will wrap up this month on the following schedule:

  • Week of December 4th to December 8th
    Zones 1 & 2: Areas north of Route 70, Downtown, Areas near Skeet Road, Some developments adjacent to Union Street and Old Marlton Pike, and Birchwood Lakes
  • Week of December 11th to December 15th
    Zone 5: Hoot Owl, Some developments adjacent to Hartford Road south of Route 70, and some areas on the west side of Taunton Road.
  • Week of December 18th to December 22nd
    Zone 3: Southern Medford, many areas south of Tuckerton Road that are east of Jackson Road, and areas east of Medford Lakes.
  • Week of December 26th to December 29th
    Zone 4: Lake Pine, Centennial, and multiple developments south of Tuckerton Road that are west of Jackson Road.

Please note that winter weather may delay leaf collection if a snowfall is experienced during leaf collection times. Schedule changes and updates will be distributed by official Nixle alerts, posted on the Township website, and the Medford Township Facebook page.

Brush Collection

Medford Township began a new Brush Collection Program earlier this year in July. This trial program has run for six months until now in December, when the final pickups of the trial will be completed

Here’s this month’s schedule:

  • Week of December 4th to December 8th
    Zones 1 & 2: Areas north of Route 70, Downtown, Areas near Skeet Road, Some developments adjacent to Union Street and Old Marlton Pike, and Birchwood Lakes
  • Weeks of December 11th to December 15th
    Zone 3: Southern Medford, many areas south of Tuckerton Road that are east of Jackson Road, and areas east of Medford Lakes.

    Zone 4: Lake Pine, Centennial, and multiple developments south of Tuckerton Road that are west of Jackson Road.
  • Weeks of December 26th to December 29th
    Zone 5: Hoot Owl, Some developments adjacent to Hartford Road south of Route 70, and some areas on the west side of Taunton Road.

From Medford Township: Requirements for brush collection will remain the same. All brush must be placed at the street no earlier than ten days before a scheduled collection. Brush and leaves must be separated. Brush must be at the street by 6:00 a.m. on the Monday of the scheduled collection week. Each street will be collected once. Questions about this trial collection program should be directed to the Department of Public Works.
