Merry Main Street 2025!

🎄 Small Business Saturday always flips a little switch on Main Street. The lights come on, the shops feel extra cozy, and suddenly it’s “holiday mode activated” whether you’re ready or not. (me personally, I'm not lol!) And right on cue, our favorite tradition is back: the 8th Annual Merry Main Street Giveaway, where one lucky shopper will take home over $1,800 in prizes from the businesses that make downtown Medford feel like a Hallmark movie—minus the cheesy plot twists!

The whole idea behind Merry Main Street is simple: if you’re already shopping, do it where it actually means something. Supporting a small business isn’t just a purchase, it’s a vote cast for the community you want to live in. You want a Main Street with fun, unique places to shop, dine, and stroll? Then support that vision! It's all too often I'll see posts about a small business closing and the comments read "aw man, I love that place, haven't been in a few years". Well, hot take, make an effort to go a little more often they may still be here. We aren't making any more Main Streets in America. Towns are declared, Main Street shops have either survived the ages or they fell to the big box stores a long time ago! Main Streets are an endangered species, so protect them! You know who doesn't show up for parades, put on giant festivals, sponsor school concerts, or light our Christmas tree? Amazon. But our Main Street businesses DO, and they show up, and they show up big because they've got heart invested in our community. Ok, getting off my soap box now, I promise!

From November 30 through December 21, every time you spend $20 or more at one of the participating Main Street shops, you earn a ticket for the grand prize drawing. You can get one ticket per business per day, and yes—grabbing dinner or a drink downtown counts too. Just show your receipt at any participating shop and they’ll hand you your ticket. Easy.

And the prize pack? It grows every year because there are always a few last-minute “WAIT! Add me!” sign ups. This year’s items range from gift cards and handmade goods to honey, skincare, art, kids’ items, and even a year of beer from Lower Forge. Truly a little bit of everything from our bustling little Main Street! We are a street of business owners that work together for a better Main Street, and it shows!

Every purchase, every ticket, every little moment of choosing to shop here instead of hitting “Buy Now” online keeps this downtown thriving. Historically, Merry Main Street brings in at least $250,000 of local spending—and yes, that number still blows my mind! So I know you all show up, and show up BIG too, and I thank you for that.

So wander the street, shop your favorites, discover new gems, soak up the twinkle lights, and maybe, just maybe, be the person whose ticket we pull on Facebook Live after December 21st around 4pm from both Main Street Merchant's FB page and Destination Medford's FB Page.
