Music on the Porch Fest is THIS SATURDAY!

Music on the Porch Fest is THIS SATURDAY!

Saturday from 3pm through 9pm Main Street Medford is turning into a musical haven. There's a certain magic about weekends spent on Main Street. You go out for one beer, run into three people you know, hear music from down the street, follow it, hear more music - follow that - stop somewhere you didn’t expect, and suddenly it’s hours later and you’re like “wait, why don’t we do this all the time?”

That’s basically what Music on the Porch Fest is!

2026's Musical Line Up!

On Saturday, May 2 from 3–9 PM, the whole downtown area turns into this laid-back, wandering, music-filled stretch where bands are set up on porches, outside shops, in front of spots you’ve walked past a hundred times… and everything just feels a little more alive. Over the course of the afternoon & evening, you'll have the opportunity to hear FORTY musical acts!

It’s not a stage, it's a porch! There are no stadium seats - but you're welcome (and encouraged!) to bring a folding chair, or picnic blanket & find a spot to listen. This is a walk around, hear something, keep moving, circle back, grab a drink from one of our local breweries, grab something to eat from one of our downtown eateries & stay for another set, repeat - kind of evening.

Bring Your Own Folding Chairs! (or picnic blankets!)

Somewhere along the way you’ll end up outside Jenni’s Goodies, or by the Gazebo, or at one of the breweries, or randomly stopped in front of a porch you didn’t even know existed, and that’s kind of the magic of Main Street. We have such a walkable downtown, and events like this are the perfect way to showcase everything our beautiful downtown has to offer. Main Street boasts 40+ retail businesses, breweries, and eateries. People underestimate our dear little Main Street, but it packs a real punch and it's the biggest shopping district in Medford! This isn't by accident, it's by design - we've been hustling to promote Main Street for the last 10+ years and this long list of businesses is what we have to show for it! So don't miss everything Main Street has to offer!

Support the Main Street Merchant shops, eateries & breweries! Members marked in bold!

There are two sessions - 3 to 6 and 6 to 9. Early crowd, later crowd, people drifting in and out. And the whole thing really comes from a good place. The Main Street Merchants business association is putting this together, with Jenni from Jenni’s Goodies as the lead organizer. You might not know that aside from being Main Street's official cookie & cupcake dealer, she’s got a full music background! In her former, pre-baked goods life she was a music teacher and an accomplished flutist. She joined the Main Street Merchants board in 2025 and this is her first foray into event organizing. Main Street can always use more music! Main Street had a "Play Music on the Porch Day" back in sweltering August of 2023 that was super fun, but the volunteer that organized that couldn't devote the time to that and Dickens Festival, so one had to go. We are soooo glad that Jenni picked up where we left off (and picked a date that is less "it's so hot we could fry an egg on the side walk" aesthetic. )

even the residents get involved! The Micciche family hosts the "Lonesome Turnpike Travelers"

Jenni said it better than I could "music is something everyone can enjoy, no matter what, and it brings people together in a way nothing else really does." and that's just what Main Street is hoping for - to bring people together for this fun, free event! Seeing live music for no entry fee is a rare thing these days, with ticket prices being what they are. So be sure to support our Main Street Merchants while you're here, as a thank you for sponsoring this event & making it happen!

If you’ve ever said “we should go out more around here,” this is your chance! What are you waiting for!? Text your friends this article & tell them to "Meet me on Main Street!" No real plan needed. Just show up, walk, listen, and see where you end up!
